Whiplash can cause reversal of the normal curve in the neck.

If you have ever been in a car accident and suffered from whiplash, a neck x-ray will probably show a straightening or reversal of the normal curve.  The neck should have a graceful forward curve which allows shock absorbtion and prevents degeneration.  Straightening of that curve will result in neck pain, muscle tightness and spasm and nerve irritation.

The normal curve in the neck is reversed in whiplash injuries because the abrupt snapping of the neck forward and back will damage the ligaments and small muscles which hold the neck in the normal curve.  The correction of this problem is vital to prevent further degeneration and arthritis.

The correction of the curve reversal in the cervical/neck is what our office does all day long.  We specialize in treatment of whiplash injuries and are skilled in rehabilitating the area to minimize any degenerative changes and arthritis.  Call our office at 860-620-9523 or visit our website at www.southingtonchiropractor.com for more information.  Your spine will be glad you did.
